During this pandemic one of the things I have missed a great deal is sketching with friends. It’s not just fun to spend time with like-minded people but it’s inspiring too. Sharing time talking about our ‘watercolour woes’ and ‘drawing disasters’ is also oddly therapeutic!
Through my recent departure into ‘online’ workshops, something that I have enjoyed very much is working together on Zoom. There is something about the interaction that’s very motivating, and there are always (without fail) a lot of laughs! With this in mind I was thinking about the much-missed gathering of friends, and groups of ‘arty’ friends in particular. Maybe you are distanced due to covid or other reasons – or maybe you are living in the same village but would love to do a group class and simply try something fun and creative together.
So…. just as there have been Book Clubs why not have your own Sketch Club?!
In a private group workshop you can get together, (cake or wine optional), and sketch the topic of your group’s choice.
I will guide you through some basics, from first lines and mixing colours to finished sketches – who knows, it could be the start of a limited edition collection?!
If this is something you’d like to explore then please get in touch – firstname.lastname@example.org !
You choose! It will ideally be a scene of some kind – a place, location, property or view. (Please note that when working from a photo it must be your own or be free of copyright). The subject will need to be agreed so that I have the reference photo at least 72hrs before the workshop takes place.
The workshop will be on a weekday starting between 8am – 6pm Paris time. Workshop duration is approximately 90 minutes. If you or members of the group have never sketched before then I recommend that a series of 2 workshops is a good idea.
Sketch Club is a way to share the cost of the workshop and can be for a group of up to 6. The trial cost is 50€ for one Sketch Club workshop.
Simply send me an email and we can arrange the date and times that suit everyone. You will need to send payment in advance. All participants will need to download the Zoom app and have some basic sketching materials including pencil, pen and a few watercolours. A starter kit or tips on what you need is available from the website – if it helps: https://amsketching.com/art-shop/sketch-kit
